Welcome to Cal Bessó, an organic winery located in Tarragona, where family tradition merges with a passion for producing high-quality wines. Founded in 2015 by partners Jaume and Raimon, this winery stands as a living testament to the dedication to sustainable viticulture and environmental preservation.

The history of Cal Bessó has its roots in the friendship of Raimon and Jaume, who decided to partner in 2015 to bring the Castellví family's manor house back to life, making wine from the grapes that Jaume produces from his Les Rotes and La Presa estates.

The winery is located in the D.O. Montsant, a fairly heterogeneous region, with 6 areas where we can find mainly limestone soils and also small areas with slate and granite. Our current production is around 20,000 bottles per year. The grapes come only from the organic vineyards of Jaume, La Presa and Les Rotes.

The municipality, at an altitude of 226m on top of a hill, is located in the southern part of the Priorat region, where the cruel and rugged landscapes disappear to give way to less aggressive areas. Within its territory is most of the Pantà dels Guiamets, a must-see.

Agriculture is the main activity of the population. The main cultivation is the vine, followed by olive trees, almond trees, and cherry trees. It is said that, in the elevated enclave where we find the small population of Los Guiamets, the few inhabitants guided visitors, mostly coming from the French town of Metz, to trade with wine.

For this reason, this place is now known as Los Guiamets.
